Rev. Walter E. Lawson

I write for the man who learned to carry everything himself, and for the people who love him. Words for the quiet room, where the strong one finally gets to rest.

The man behind the pulpit

I am a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, and a son. I am also a pastor, a veteran, a retired federal officer, and a businessman. I was a state champion athlete in high school and the valedictorian of my class at Morris Brown College.

None of that kept me from carrying things I should have set down. Grief, pressure, and the habit of being the strong one for everyone else. I write from inside that experience, not after it healed.

My books come out of the pastor’s chair, where I have spent years sitting with people who were choosing, every day, whether to keep going. I want readers to finish a page and feel less alone.

What Strong Men Carry

Grief, faith, and the weight men don’t put down

I wrote this book in that season. Not after it healed. Inside it.

A book for men who have lost someone and were told to stay strong anyway, written to be read in the quiet room and not the pulpit version of a man. It makes room for lament, honest questions, and prayer from a tired father.
